"BAHAY KUBO"
From the moment when we were born, our
parents taught us good values and how to be a good citizen. Those values rooted
in our hearts and soul that is why most of us were God fearing individuals.
More than 90% of the Filipinos are Christians thus this shows more Filipinos
are God Believers. Living a simple life were the teaching of our parents and it
was passed by our fore parents too. By this idea most Filipinos were middle
class family and still they passed the idea to their children.
Did you ever ask yourself why most
"Juan dela Cruz" were not rich? And the answer is, Our CULTURE.
I know their are many of you will not agree with me. Let me justify my thought later on.
Let me continue...
We only taught that Rich people were rich because they inherited it from their parents and from their ancestors. So, no wander why most of PINOY were not rich. We don't even bother to become rich because our fore parents were not rich which is a very big mistake and very wrong idea. This missed training in our children had a huge impact in their future. Now can you imagine why Filipinos were tied up with so much debts?
Until we don't find ways and means to break this Old Culture, we can never escape from the "Rat Race". Now a days you don't even be called "Pinoy" if you don't have debts. Right? It is because we always live according to the map that has been created many centuries ago.
So sad to hear but that's the real fact! Another thing, a simple employed Pinoy receives his paycheck on the day of his payday and the next day it just passed by. Can you relate? Why this happened? For the entire 15 days (working period in the Philippines because our pay is every after 15 day of work. Not Monthly) most Filipinos tend to barrow money from their friends or even in the lending company just to survive. Obviously, they have to pay first their debts with there paycheck.. meaning nothing left. They just keep on doing this for a long long time, and It is a very, very, very sad happening to Us.
Common Filipino Mindset By Their
Parents, the Old Culture!!
Have you tried to ask your younger (elementary or kindergarten) brother,
nephew, or even your younger neighbor of what is their dream house? Try to give
them a piece of paper and a pencil asks them to draw their dream house. You
will not be shocked because you will expect them to draw a simple "Bahay
Kubo" or a Filipino native house. A house made of bamboo tree as being shown in my
picture above. I cant deny that's my dream even myself during my childhood. You can imagine now what it looks like in our children's future dreams.
What is my point here in BAHAY KUBO Concept!!
From our very young age we were taught to act as simple as possible. We don't even train to think big and that is why most of us grew simple and struggling in our lives. The simple teaching of a "Bahay Kubo" taught us not to create an extraordinary future ahead. What I mean here, molding our children with such teaching will limit them the understanding in achieving our goals.
Remember, The mind of a child is very powerful whatever we taught them will bring that idea until they will grow older and older. It is so important to mindset our children while they are still young so that all of their lives will be patterned in achieving their goals.
It is our sole responsibility to HELP our children build their dreams while they are still young. Molding them with the right pot, is one of the major task as a responsible Parent.
